Marty Glapa is a Partner and Bell Labs Fellow in Bell Labs Consulting where he leads R&D for Future Converged High-Performance Broadband Networks. His focus is on the creation of innovative analytical business and network models for next generation access architectures and technologies including fiber, copper, cable, wireless, and related domains. Previously, Marty led the Converged High-Performance End-to-End Networks team responsible for consulting R&D and delivery for optical, IP, wireless, video and access.
Marty’s collective experience and background includes network architecture, network and business modeling, strategy planning, systems engineering, business development, and software development. He has designed and delivered consulting services around the world. He is an expert in cable networks with a history that includes defining and modeling next-generation access architectures, cable consulting services, network systems integration, and pioneering work on interactive TV applications, cable standards contributions, and VoIP over cable networks.
Marty has published 20+ papers and articles and has authored and delivered numerous papers at various technical conferences. He holds four patents. Marty has a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from DePaul University, Chicago, Illinois. Marty is also on the electrical engineering/computer science advisory boards for Colorado State University and the Colorado School of Mines.
