Jörg was born in Osnabrück, Germany and studied Physics at the University of Osnabrück with a focus on applied optics. His diploma thesis was on “Neutron diffraction on light induced Bragg gratings in polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA)”. He started his career at Alcatel-Lucent in Stuttgart, Germany in 1990. He has worked on various R&D projects in the field of Erbium doped fibers and assembling technologies for micro optical modules. He has led an industrialization group at the fiber optic department in Nuremberg, Germany. Later on he led a validation team for hybrid fiber coax systems. Within the technology center of Alcatel in Stuttgart he has built up a qualification environment for MOST components. Since 2004 he has been working as a team leader for the fixed network program at Bell Labs in Stuttgart, Germany.
Jörg was nominated as a member of the Alcatel-Lucent Technical Academy in 2011.
Jörg won the Alcatel-Lucent team work award with the embedded OTDR team in 2013.
