Research Interests
- Universal Mobility
- Unified Authentication across multiple technologies
- Harmonised Service Creation and Execution Environment
- Common Messaging schemes and message interworking between CDMA, UMTS and IMS networks
As a researcher in the Super Distributed Home Location Register (SDHLR) Project,
I concentrate on mobility and universal roaming across multiple access technologies, Circuit and packet including IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) systems. With User mobility, users can have multiple devices and can get same services across technologies. SuperDHLR embodies the functions of different entities like UMTS HLR, ANSI-41 HLR, HSS and AAA servers in one entity by supporting multiple standard protocol interfaces. It defines core data types and common control procedures that can be projected in different formats to different network types.By so doing, the UMM provides transparent global roaming functionality, without modification of any other network element.
The current focus is on AAA Integration with SDHLR for Converged Subscriber Management across Heterogeneous Access Networks.
Prior to the SDHLR project, I was the member of the research and development team for Lucent's flagship voice mail system, Intuity AUDIX and Lucent Interchange.
