About Me
Throughout my professional life I have always tried to combine the academic and the industrial environments. In 1986, I started my academic studies at the
Computer Science Dept. of the
Technion - Israel
and I received my B.Sc degree in Computer Engineering (Summa Cum Laude) in 1991.
During the years 1989-1991, I worked at the CAD group of
Intel-Israel R&D center,
where I was involved in the development and implementation of algorithms for
logical synthesis of VLSI chips.
Between the years 1991-1994, I continued my M.Sc. studies at the Computer Science Dept.
of the Technion, under the supervision of
Prof. Adrian Segall.
There, I conducted my research on setup and maintenance of multicast communication trees
in high-speed networks. In 1994, I joined Intelligent Information System Ltd. (I.I.S)
as a senior software engineer and I was involved in the development of communication
products. In 1996, I returned to the Technion for my Ph.D. studies at the
Electrical Engineering Dept.
until my graduation at 2000.
During that period, I worked with
Prof. Israel Cidon and
Prof. Joseph (Seffi) Naor
on various aspects of mobility and connectivity management for mobile users
in Personal Communication Systems and the Internet.
Throughout my studies, I received several awards and scholarships including
Intel award for distinguished graduate students, Gutwirth award for distinguished
graduate students and Excellence scholarships from the Technion and the Israeli
Ministry of Science and Technology. On October 2000, I joined
Bell-Labs as a member of the technical staff (MTS).
My current position enables me to conduct theoretical and applied research in the field of
communication networks and to work on the definition and development of new products.
I am also involved in the networking community and I have served as member of the technical program committee (TPC) of the
Infocom’02,
Infocom’03,
Infocom’04,
Infocom’05 and
Infocom’06 conferences.
Research Interest
My research interest covers various management aspects of wireless and wired networks. In my research I usually utilize different algorithmic tools such as approximation algorithms and on-line algorithms for solving network design, management and optimization problems. My papers address the following topics:

Integration of wireless and wired networks.
