v61u3 install script updated
We found and fixed a flaw in the "sablime_install" script that was on the download page for v6.1 Update 3. If you have downloaded the package and haven't installed it, you should download a new copy of the "sablime_install" script.
If you have run the "sablime_install" script, and your Web Sablime installation is having trouble, check the "config.input" file in $sabLCB/web/admin. If it has a series of repeated lines after the HTPASSWD=/some/path line, remove them and then run ./wsab_install.

Sablime Version 6.1, Update 3 Released
The highlight feature of this new release is web-only users. Now, Web Sablime users no longer need to have an actual login on the Unix/Linux database host. This should simplify ID administration. It also simplifies installation, which no longer requires the assistance of someone with "root" privileges.
Update 3 includes a number of bug fixes, and other enhancements such as setting the email "From" address to the user's preferred address, and having getversion ignore unassigned MRs.
See the Release Notes for more information.

Daylight Savings Time
Beginnning this year, most of the United States begins Daylight Savings Time at 2:00 AM on the second Sunday of March. For 2007, that is March 11th. Daylight Savings Time ends the last Sunday in October.
Note that Sablime is not sensitive to this change in scheduling of DST. That is, Sablime records events using the system clock time. As your host system clock changes automatically (or is changed manually), Sablime will begin recording date-sensitive events using the updated time.

Day 1 as Alcatel-Lucent !
For now, we're simply excited to be a part of this new merged company, the "world's leading communication solutions provider". We don't expect any near-term impact on Sablime - and we certainly hope and expect that the long term impact will be a positive one for us and our customers.
27 Nov 2006:
Repackaged the v6.1, Update 2 full distributions.
Installing Web Sablime with the newest Apache Web Server distribution results in a message "Forbidden: You don't have permission to access [file]" when you try to launch Web Sablime for the first time. This patched distribution includes a modification to our Web Installation script to adjust for the Apache change. If you have a successfully installed Web Sablime, you do not need to update.
11 Oct 2006:
The contractor that used to conduct our formal Sablime training classes has decided to stop offering the classes. We're developing some new materials to allow us to offer on-line and other less expensive (for both of us) and more focused training.
In the meantime, we're offering ad-hoc training/consulting for those customers that need the assistance right away. Contact the business office at software@lucent.com for more information.
10 Oct 2006: Added v6.1u3 Expected Contents detailing the MRs expected to be in the 3rd update of Sablime v6.1.
20 July 2006: Added the Audit and Troubleshooting Guide to the documentation package for Unix/Linux. This was one of the few remaining parts of the old documentation set that hadn't been migrated.
18 July 2006: Sablime for Windows sfw1.1, Update 2 is now available! Update 2 of Sablime for Windows sfw1.1 brings the v6.1u2 changes to Sablime for Windows. That is, it contains a large number of relatively small enhancements and fixes. No splashy new features, but many user-requested and other solid improvements.
21 June 2006: Update 2 has been patched. The small database conversion that was part of the update contained a bug. If you had more than one product in your Sablime instance, the conversion did not fully convert the products other than the initial one.
If you downloaded Update 2 before June 21, 2006 (15:00 EDT), then you should download the updated "dbconvert" script from the download page, install it into your bin directory, and re-run it. It will then do whatever parts of the conversion that were not completed the first time.
9 June 2006: Sablime v6.1, Update 2 is now available! Update 2 of Sablime v6.1 for UNIX/Linux contains a large number of relatively small enhancements and fixes. No splashy new features, but many user-requested and other solid improvements.
30 May 2006: Regression testing continues on v6.1 Update 2. The release date is now set for June 9th.
18 May 2006: Added sab060033 to v6.1u2 Expected Contents. This MR enhances approve and testpass so that they break the list of MRs to be approved into smaller, dependent sets, before approving them. This greatly lowers the risk of encountering a failure due to overly long inclusion lists in the "s." files, and lessens the liklihood of corruption if an approve operation is interrrupted.
17 May 2006: Removed sab060003 from v6.1u2 Expected Contents. This was the MR that proposed a "beep" when the characters typed on a curses menu entry field so far don't make an exact match to that number of characters on a candidate value from the menu. This behavior could be turned on or off by the admin. The MR was deferred to v6.2 because it requires a database upgrade.
09 May 2006: Added more MRs to the v6.1u2 Expected Contents page. [ Enhancement MR sab050068, Bug Fix MRs sab060041 and sab060035 ]
05 May 2006: Added several more MRs to the v6.1u2 Expected Contents page. [ Enhancement MRs sab060036, sab060031, sab060030, sab060026, Bug Fix MRs sab060040, sab060029, sab060019 ]
25 Apr 2006: Our "staging" server has been having troubles for the last couple weeks, so we haven't been able to send out updates to the blog. It's fixed now
03 Apr 2006: Alcatel/Lucent merger. Unknown, for now, how this affects Sablime. It will be 6 months to a year before the merger is finalized. Lucent and Alcatel have announced that certain U.S. Government business will be moved to a U.S. managed subsidiary. It is unknown whether Sablime's business with U.S. government agencies will be included in this.
13 Mar 2006:
Added Executive Summary PowerPoint presentation.
Updated the brochure.
03 Mar 2006:
Uploaded a new, smaller, PDF file for the UNIX/Linux Usage Guide
Fixed a couple broken links (the main link to the v6.1u1 Console Reference Guide, and the link within the Installation Guide to the Getting Started Guide.
17 Feb 2006:
Created v6.1u2 Expected Contents detailing the MRs expected to be in the 2nd update of Sablime v6.1.
17 Feb 2006: Created Sablog - First Entry. We'll get at least one entry into each category before going live with this. If I try to get everything complete before publishing, it will never go live.
