  Sablime Configuration Management System

If you've ever wanted to display your Sablime® data in a spreadsheet, to quickly review and analyze the information or to make charts from it, check out this screen shot from the upcoming update to Sablime® v6.0:

This uses your Web Sablime® interface to populate and update a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet with up-to-the-minute data from the Sablime® databases.

The "getversion" command in the  upcoming update to Sablime® v6.0 will be far more flexible about how to specify MRs:
mrs   = [ MR | MR groupname | MR statename[+] | all ] ...
umrs  = [ MR | MR groupname | MR statename[+] | all ] ...
where MR is any MR number
MR groupname is an MR-type group
MR statename is an MRG state
MR statename+  is that state or beyond
all is all MRs in the generic
We're also eliminating the error messages about redundant MRs.  If an MR appears in multiple entries in a list, or if an MR that is already on the "mrs" list is also on the "umrs" list, "getversion" won't complain.
The existing "mrgstate=statename" functionality, by the way, will be retained for compatibility.

If you've ever wanted to change the information that's displayed on the MR Details page of Web
Sablime®, because your project has user defined fields, or because you just care about different fields than the ones shown; then check out this screen shot from the upcoming update to Sablime® v6.0:

Notice that there is a Layout View menu.  This lets you select from among several views such as "Tester", "Developer", etc.  You can also define your own view templates and store them for the whole project or just for your individual use.

In addition to the above enhancements, the update will include some changes necessary for support of some new Browser versions, and a handful of bug fixes.

V6.0, Update 2, will likely be available late May or early June.

v6.1 will come along later in 2003.

The next big release of Sablime® is also well into development.  Sablime® v6.1 takes the next step of concurrency, permitting private branches.  These allow a user to do multiple edgets and edputs on a branch that is kept separate from the mr and ofc branches.
This is useful if the change being worked on is
  • risky - meaning you're uncertain whether it will be completed and you don't want to risk letting other work become dependent on it
  • messy - meaning it could disrupt other work
  • delicate - meaning it could be easily disrupted by other's changes.
As things are now, of course, you could just do those changes privately without checking them in until they are completed.  V6.1, though, will let you checkpoint your changes into source control and  will permit you to re-sync your changes by picking up the later "mr" branch changes.

V6.1 will also include the ability to merge an MR's changes to another generic, even from or to a private branch.
