Builder Extras and Utilities

Builder ships with several files in the $BUILDERDIR/extras directory.  At the moment, they are:

• launch_from_remote
• pre_build
• update_capture
• update_send
• mail_template
• remote_launch
• update_load
• warning_template

Except for the warning_template and the mail_template files, all of the "extras" files are part of builder's "distributed build" facility, a specialized implementation of builder for multiple build sites.  See Distributed builder.

The "mail_template" is a sample file showing how a project might make use of the customized mail capabilities.

The "warning_template" file is also a sample.  Modify this file to suit your needs, and place it into $BUILDERDIR/<product>/<scenario>/warning_list to get warnings to show up in your error report.
 

builder utilities

Builder ships with several utilities in the $BUILDERDIR/bin directory.  At the moment, they are:

• copy_gate
  Can be used to force or prohibit builder's node copies, overriding the normal logic.
• prom_gate
  Can be used to force or prohibit builder's MR promotions, overriding the normal logic.
• statistics
  Generates some statistical information about the builder operations.
• unlock_nodes
  Removes builder's lock files relating to a particular product and scenario.
• remove_mrs
  Designed to remove specific MRs from a node, taking into account the existing contents of the node.
