Platform Tier Level Changes Effective 1/2/2006

New Platform Tier Definitions

Following is the new set of platform tier definitions effective 1/2/2006:

Tier 1 Available immediately for new releases.
Tier 2 Porting begins after all tier 1 ports have been completed.
Tier 3 Made available at user's request (no charge).
Tier 4 Porting may be done by request but entails a porting charge and possibly the use of the customer's machine.

The new set of definitions adds a new tier level 3. Addition of this tier allows better support of high-demand platforms while still addressing the needs of lower demand platforms.
