Widely Flexible Superchannel using PDM-256QAM and Parallel Probabilistic Shaping enabling Eight Fold Transmission Reach Adaptation

A five-carrier supperchannel with probabilistically shaped PDM 256-QAM symbols is experimentally demonstrated. 16-Gbaud transmission over low-loss all-Raman amplified 50-km spans enables flexible net information rates from 1.1 Tb/s over 500 km with spectral efficiency of 14.1 b/s/Hz to 720 Gb/s over 4000 km with SE of 9.0 b/s/Hz.
