Interference Avoidance Techniques for Improving Ubiquitous User Experience
This paper presents interference avoidance schemes for three scenarios targeting the deployment of 3GPP LTE-advanced networks. In a first scenario, we propose 3D beamforming as a flexible technology for taking the best benefit from the inter-node cooperation constrained by the core network infrastructure. The second scenario addresses a more futuristic deployment with non-constrained internodes cooperation link based on an interference shaping strategy that allows for exploiting at its maximum the coordinated multipoint concept. Finally, we investigate interference coordination mechanisms for the massive deployment of home base stations with the goal of protecting the macro network.
