Waterford Institute of Technology

Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) is a university-level institution in the South-East of Ireland with over 10,000 students.

The Telecommunications Software & Systems Group (TSSG) (www.tssg.org) is the WIT research and development group for Information Communication Technology (ICT). The TSSG comprises approximately 150 full-time researchers, carrying out high quality research addressing the transformation of the telecommunication industry, with a core focus on network/service/device management, back office systems and mobile services.  Most of the TSSG’s research activity is driving toward the “future Internet.” The institute’s vision is to develop a service framework that enables ubiquitous service solutions for a disappearing communication infrastructure.

“Central to all “future Internet” research conducted at TSSG is the awareness of our collective responsibility in "creating greener" solutions that maximize efficiency and effectiveness but minimize the impact on the wider community. TSSG is delighted to be a part of a consortium, where expert knowledge sharing will bring about great changes in securing a better future.”

Dr. Kevin Quinn, Research Manager, Telecommunications Software & Systems Group, Waterford Institute of Technology.
