NTT

Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp. (NTT) is a share holding company of its subsidiaries in the NTT Group, which provides telecommunications and various ICT services to residential and business customers.

NTT’s major businesses are:
- planning management strategies for the NTT Group
- encouraging fundamental Research and Development (R&D) efforts.

The approximate 2500 researchers of the research laboratories are undertaking world-class R&D in wide-ranging areas, from basic research to commercial development of ICT. NTT R&D has just made the Green R&D road map up to 2020 under the NTT Group’s new vision - THE GREEN VISION 2020 - which was released in November, 2010 and published the contents as a report at the Website (www.ntt.co.jp/islab/greenrd/index.html). NTT R&D is strongly implementing the road map to make NTT’s communications equipment and systems more power efficient, its ICT services more power thrifty so they consume less energy, while devising communications facilities and equipment that require fewer resources to produce.
