More than a feel-good effort, sustainable energy is becoming become a key component to GDP growth world-wide. This dynamic presentation will showcase the EU's sustainable energy goals for 2020, with a particular emphasis on how Smart Grid is shaping to be a central component of those plans.

Presenter: Dr. Maher Chebbo, SAP  

Dr. Chebbo is Vice President of Utilities & Communication Industries for EMEA at SAP AG. He joined SAP 16 years ago. Maher is member of the ETP SmartGrids Council, Chair of Demand and metering, member of the Steering Committee DG-EnergyTask Force SmartGrids Regulatory, contributor to ETP Wind, co-Chair of the ICT Consultation group for Energy Efficiency, member of the Board of REEEP, Board member of ARMINES, Member of the Scientific Committee of Ecole des Mines de Nantes and Technical coordinator of SEESGEN-ICT for Energy Efficiency, an EC Thematic Network. Before joining SAP, Maher led at the Cap Gemini the Power and Communication industries for 6 years. Maher co-founded a Renewable Energy German startup. He holds an Engineering and PhD degrees in Energy from Mines de Paris.
