The Nokia Bell Labs site in Budapest has nearly 50 research and standardization engineers specializing in analytics, optimization and management of future mobile networks.
Nokia's research facility in downtown Budapest has played an integral role in telecommunications research in Hungary since its 1998 opening. We collaborate with local universities like Budapest University of Technology and Eötvös Lóránd University to form a strong research ecosystem. Our researchers design innovative and disruptive solutions for enabling on-demand, cognitive orchestration of E2E QoE and network resource management in future mobile networks. Our researchers actively participate in national and international projects and our engineers contribute to industry standards like 3GPP and ETSI NFV.
The major research areas in Budapest include:
- QoE/QoS management in 4G/5G systems
- Self Organizing Networks in mobile networks
- Cognitive network management
- Mobile Edge Computing
- Real-time/non-real time data analytics
- NFV management and orchestration
- Application orchestration
