Philippe Richard is currently a member of Bell Labs. In this role, he mainly contributes to the definition and implementation of the Alcatel-Lucent energy efficiency strategy, connecting the Bell Labs advanced research, the business lines advanced development and the support to customers’ requests and partnerships.
Philippe has more than twenty years of experience in R&D and strategy management. Before joining the corporate Chief Technology Office of Alcatel-Lucent, he was in charge of R&D and product line management across multiple Business Divisions. He held corporate or international positions within the Alcatel-Lucent group. He was vice-president in charge of the effectiveness of the whole Alcatel R&D (and then Alcatel-Lucent) from 2004 to 2010. This provides him with the opportunity to develop his experience in international and multi-cultural management of R&D teams spanning all continents.
Philippe Richard is a graduate of the University of Paris-Sud at Orsay. He has a Master degree in Mathematics and holds Doctorate es Sciences in Computer Science. Before Joining Alcatel-Lucent, he was a Director of Research at INRIA (Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et Automatique) until May 1991.
