Kevin is responsible for future network architecture transformation and technology strategy, spanning wireline and wireless networks, and implications for related network research and product directions. His primary focus is on the impact of network and service virtualization, Software Defined Networking, edge computing, and content distribution on metro networking, IP service edge architecture, and disruptive enterprise innovation.
His 30+ year career in telecommunications spans product development, systems engineering, network architecture & modeling, network solutions and portfolio planning, technology roadmapping, services evolution and technology strategy. His current work includes vison and migration planning for SDN/NFV-enabled programmable network transformation, new applications and business models, and cloud-automated enterprise transformation, as well as network implications of IPv6 migration and pervasive end-end encryption of Internet traffic. Kevin serves as Alcatel-Lucent’s member on the FCC Technological Advisory Council, and is currently leading topics on future networking technologies and architecture, and on the TIA CTO Council.
